Recently, Malaysia has realised the need to internationalise the education system in its country, and with such an aim they Ministry of Higher Education notified it’s applicants to pursue higher education among the top-most colleges by April 29th, 2018. It was one of the first calls to build a global approach best suited to vast the education system of the nation.
Available options to seek the highest of education –
As a part of the application and admission posts for pursuing higher studies, one needs to choose from the list of top Malaysian Public and Private Universities – which also included the various TEFL Institute. The best part of the option was students from any geographical location who can choose their graduation or post graduation degree program. This also means some willing to do B.A in TEFL or M.A in TESOL was appreciated to participate.
The required eligibility criteria –
Also, the eligibility criteria for sending it for the scholarship thing were not too difficult. It formally required the candidates who opted for the graduates should have a passing percentage of 85% in their twelfth standard. Also, the board should be well recognised, both these criteria would satisfy them to select the top-notch undergraduate programme and colleges and bring an international change in their career.
In case of Masters, the cut off was 75% at the undergraduate level and that person is eligible to study abroad. This can be strict for many but the meritorious students will have a brighter stand in receiving the best of education. But for both the cases, candidates should have a proficient English level – technically speaking it has to be Level C1.
Talking about the scholarship system:
Best of the candidates will be offered five different scholarships with 100% wave off upon the tuition fee. The rest of 100 applicants will be able to wave of 50% of their tuition fee. So the wait for many pursuing English advance courses is just fine because the country has exotic places to explore. Many would suggest that the advanced courses would mean a great career opportunity and the state is also one of the great destinations for TEFL.
So keep the info in mind because you can avail it for the upcoming year if you are aware of how to apply. This year candidates had to register for the scholarship program and for that need they had to visit the Education Malaysia Booth in Uniagents Annual Summit in the Leela Hotel on the respective date, 29th April 2018 between 11 am to 5 pm in-person to complete the registration process.

This year's theme, ELT: Ideal versus Reality, encourages us to reflect on our underlying beliefs about, and existing practices of, the reality of our teaching situation in relation to the ideal, the ideal that we ourselves may set, or those externally imposed. It aims to raise questions, encourage debate and consider the focus of the direction in which we are heading in our profession. It can be interpreted as narrowly as pronunciation, or as broadly as the effectiveness of prescribed external outcomes. The focus is on solutions to bring the ideal and reality closer together. The floor is yours. |
